A Spectacled Caiman is a South American caiman. The males can grow to be 2-2.5 meters long, while females can grow to be 1.4 meters long.

Reproduction Edit

These caimans mature in 4-7 years, and mate in the dry season. After the end of their mating season, females build nests out of dense vegetation. They lay up to 40 eggs into each of these nests. The female is very protective, caring for the babies for the first two months after they are born.

Food choices Edit

Spectacled Caimans eat insects, crustaceans, and mollusks, when larger ones will eat water snails.
