Found throughout Southeast and East Asia. Habitat: Tropical rainforest and even urban areas.

The Tokay Gecko is among the largest of all the gecko. An adult male can reach lengths of between 13-16 inches. Adult females are much smaller, reaching only between 7-10 inches.

Diet[]

Mainly nocturnal, the gecko mainly feeds on insects like grasshoppers, crickets, moths, and roaches. But it will also small verebrates like rodents, small birds, and other lizards, including other tokays.

Call[]

The Tokay gecko got it's name because the males make a distinctive mating call., which is a two syllable "to-kay" like sound. Other vocalizations include barks, clicks, and squeaks.

In Captivity[]

This lizard is sometimes kept as a pet. But the Tokay is known for being aggressive and has the tendancy to bite, therefore their hard to rear.
